Collection includes 3 addresses on petroleum geology, 1948-55; miscellaneous reprints 1936-66; his SRI report on oil reserves of western Canada, 1951; notes for a lecture in 1965; catalog and dedication program for the A. I. Levorsen Geology Collection in the Tulsa City–County Library System, 1968; and biographical materials, including a memorial by Wallace E. Pratt, 1966.

Biographical / historical:

A. I. Levorsen, petroleum geologist, earned his E. M. degree at the University of Minnesota, School of Mines in 1917. He came to Stanford University in 1945 as professor of geology; he served as the first dean of the School of Mineral Sciences from 1946-51, when he left Stanford to resume his consulting career.
