Abstract: The collection includes 10 manuscript
pages by Simon Kerl, who wrote several books on English grammar between approximately 1859
and 1871. Some of the pages are draft-manuscript for a revised edition of one of Kerl's
school texts. Also included in the collection are four photographs (color photocopies) of
Simon Kerl and his wife, Mary Sommerer Kerl.
