Long Beach Museum of Art Video Archive, circa 1964-2003

Exhibition files, 1975-1999

Identifier:
Series II.
Dates:
1975-1999
Extent:
17.85 Linear Feet (40 boxes)
Scope and content:

This series contains records related to video exhibitions organized by and presented at the Long Beach Museum of Art (LBMA) from 1975 to 1999. Files often include press releases, printed announcements, catalogs, posters, images and written content for printed materials, administrative papers, program notes, screening schedules, installation notes and sketches, mailing lists, acquisition forms, loan and payment receipts, press clippings, and correspondence with such key LBMA staff as David Ross, Kathy Rae Huffman, Michael Nash, Carole Ann Klonarides, Connie Fitzsimons, Peter Kirby, Jacquelain Kain, and Martin Betz. However, the records are not comprehensive; exhibitions in the 1980s tend to be better documented than those in the 1970s or 1990s, and some LBMA exhibition records are entirely absent from the archive. Videos associated with many of the exhibitions are located in Series VII. See also the chronology of film and video exhibitions at LBMA from 1974 to 1999.
