The Social Process Research Institute was formed to serve three main purposes: to serve as a major resource for basic research
in the social sciences at UCSB; to train graduate students in the planning, design, and execution of research; and to make
social science techniques and data available to interested parties in the community. The institute was formed in the 1960s
and later dissolved, presumably in the 1980s.
The collection contains proposals and reports relating to the research and progress of the institute.
