This collection consists of photocopies of the correspondence between Fanny Bixby Spencer (a philanthropist, pacifist, and
playwright) and Nicolaas Steelink during and following his imprisonment at San Quentin (1920-1922) for "criminal syndicalism"
due to his activities with the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). The original letters form part of the Nicolaas Steelink
Collection in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs at Wayne State University.
