Abstract: Genevieve Ardolf McDermott was a graduate student in the UCLA School of Education. Her 1971 Ph.D dissertation investigated
the development of the philosophy of student participation, the structural changes in the administration of the Association,
the programs and activities over its 24-year existence, and the effectiveness of its influence on the state legislature and
state board of education. The collection consists of correspondence, minutes, publications and ephemera collected by McDermott
for her dissertation.
