Background
Robert Robinson was born in Montreal Canada were he developed a love of classical music early in life. By the age of 17 he
was a professional radio actor and by 19 was acting on stage in Canada. When his potential was recognized by several leading
actors of the day they arranged for Robinson to receive a scholarship to the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
He lived and worked there from 1953-1984. The programs in this collection come principally from this period. Robinson went
on to direct plays and teach master classes in regional theatres and universities in Britain and the United States.
