Administrative History
The Board of Supervisors created the Office of County Counsel in 1948. The first county counsel was Howard Campen, who served
until 1955, later becoming county executive in 1957. The Office of County Counsel provides legal advice and representation
for the County of Santa Clara, including the Board of Supervisors and County agencies and departments.
Scope and Content of Collection
This collection includes one scrapbook of news clippings from 1961 to 1971. The clippings appear to have been selected for
inclusion because they mentioned a representative of the county counsel's office in the news story. The collection also includes
a folder of news clippings and photocopies of articles about County Counsel Ann Ravel, covering the years 1998 to 2008.
Arrangement
The folder of clippings is arranged in chronological order.
