This collection consists of the business records of the Sunset Club of Los Angeles, California,
a men's social organization, from its inception in 1895, and currently updated through 2010.
Background
The Sunset Club was started in Los Angeles, California, in 1895 by Charles Dwight Willard
(1866-1914), along with Charles Fletcher Lummis, W.C. Patterson, Bert Estes, and
Fred L. Alles. It was modeled on the Sunset Club of Chicago as a men's social
organization.

Approximately 700 items.
Restrictions
The Huntington Library does not require that researchers request permission to quote from or publish images of this material,
nor does it charge fees for such activities.
The responsibility for identifying the copyright holder, if there is one, and obtaining necessary permissions rests with
the researcher.
Availability
Some items are restricted to the use of Sunset Club members. The Huntington shall open the contents of the Collection which
are dated thirty (30) years or more years earlier (or high resolution surrogates where the condition of specific originals
does not permit them to be handled) for research use by registered Huntington Library readers and correspondents according
