Katherine McNeil compiled the book Gary Snyder: a bibliography (1983). Her papers contain correspondence with Gary Snyder's publishers, collectors, and friends that McNeil assembled during the time she worked on the bibliography. In addition, there is correspondence from Gary Snyder answering various questions and providing background material. Also included are five audiocassettes that contain a biographical/bibliographical interview of Snyder.

Katherine McNeil (1940- ) received an M.A. in English from Sonoma State College in 1975. Her master's thesis was titled, Gary Snyder: a bibliography. In 1983 she compiled the book, Gary Snyder: a bibliography, published by the Phoenix Book Shop.
