Description
Stephen Chalmers (1880-1935) was born in Scotland. He became an active member of the Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Society of Saranac Lake (New York) and wrote many volumes about Robert Louis Stevenson. The collection consists primarily of letters (ca. 1915-1922)to Chalmers discussing Robert Louis Stevenson and the Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Society of Saranac Lake. Includes material relating to the founding and activities of the RLS Memorial Society of Saranac Lake and the Stevenson family circle.

Stephen Chalmers was born in Scotland in 1880; became an active member of the Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Society of Saranac Lake (New York); wrote many volumes about Robert Louis Stevenson; contributed to pulp magazines and wrote mysteries, historical novels, and poetry; also wrote science fiction stories, Star-Dust (1912) and The Frozen Beauty (1914); died in California, 1935.
