This collection consists of typescripts of interviews and diaries collected by
Kimball Young (1893-1972) in regard to his research into the Mormon practice of
polygamy. The information he gathered was to be used for his book,
Isn't one wife
enough?
(New York : Holt and Co., 1954). During his interviews and research, Young
also gained information about Mormons in Mexico, overland journeys to the Pacific,
frontier life in Utah, the United Order, and persecution of Mormons. Assisting Young
in his research were J.E. Hulett and Fay Ollerton, who conducted some of the
interviews and collected notes on polygamy for him.
