Brown traveled extensively between 1928 and 1933 during his firm's most prolific period after the dissolution of Bakewell & Brown. During this time, he maintained regular and extensive correspondence with his assistant, Edith Fremdling, who kept Brown informed of the detailed daily activities of the office with updates on activities and progress related to all ongoing projects and office architects. Similar letters were exchanged with Edward Frick and John Davis Hatch, with more detail relating to the progress of building projects.
