Papers document his professional career as researcher (focusing on hypnosis) and professor at Stanford University; included
are correspondence, research files, articles and papers, lectures, reprints, course materials, records from Professor Hilgard's
extensive Stanford committee activities, and his memoirs (1991). Collection includes a small number of videos, audio tapes,
and photographs.
