Principal investigators were Murray Krieger and Wolfgang Iser, but members of the center included Hazard Adams, Ernst Behler, Hendrik Birus, Jacques Derrida, J. Hillis Miller, K. Ludwig Pfeiffer, Bill Readings, Pauline Yu, and Wang Ching-hsien.
ICHD organized the The International Conference on Humanistic Discourses, held in 1994 (April 3-8) at UC Irvine, 1995 at UC Irvine, 1996 (September 16-20) in Munich, 1997 (October 5-11) in Seattle, and 1999 (April 7-9) at UC Irvine.
