Prussing was born on July 12, 1855 in Chicago, Illinois; attended Bryant and Stratton's Business College; LLB, University of Michigan, 1878; admitted to Illinois and Michigan bars in 1878; practiced law in Chicago until 1918; settled in Hollywood, California, 1921; director of Citizens' Association of Chicago, serving as president, 1903-04; publications include George Washington in love and otherwise (1925) and The estate of George Washington, deceased (1927); he died in 1936.
