The manuals in this collection contain information intended to assist in the assembly, operation, and repair of agricultural machinery. The collection may contain parts books and price lists if they include part descriptions and provide part numbers. Most of the manuals are originals. All facsimiles and reprints have been identified in the scope and content note for each item.

Biographical / historical:

The Agricultural Technology Manuals Collection was compiled by the San Joaquin County Historical Society and Museum. The majority of the manuals have been donated by private collectors and by museum volunteers. Museum staff members have also purchased manuals to include in the collection. Until 2011, the manuals in this collection were stored with catalogs, brochures, and other promotional materials published by agricultural machinery manufacturers. They have since been separated and arranged independently.

The manuals in this collection are arranged in series corresponding to companies that created them. Each series is arranged chronologically.
