    Scope and Contents

The Sylvia A. Cramer Collection (1970-2009) documents Cramer's support of the Chicano movement while at SDSU. Of particular interest are notes from a study group of faculty and students who met to discuss Chicano and Chicana issues at the university. Also included are posters supporting United Farm Worker causes; documentation of an initiative against Proposition 13, a referendum that limited property taxation; and the Bakke decision, in which the US Supreme Court determined that fixed quotas for minority student enrollment was unconstitutional in 1978. The majority of the material dates from 1970 to 1976 and focuses on activities supporting the Chicano Movement. Filed alphabetically, the collection consists of flyers, newspapers, one DVD, posters, notes, and articles.
