The bulk of this material relates generally to John Somerville's academic career in the study of Marxism, Soviet philosophy, education and his political activism against the proliferation of nuclear weapons and nuclear war, and his work as co-founder and president of the Society for the Philosophical Study of Marxism (SPSM) and the International Philosophers for the Prevention of Nuclear Omnicide (IPPNO).
