History
The Tryout Theatre was a non-profit organization founded in 1943 in Seattle, Washington by George Savage, Zoe Lund Schiller
and others. Its purpose was to promote the development and production of new American plays. The theatre was a member of the
National Theatre Conference, Seattle Art Museum, American Educational Theatre Manuscript Play Project, and the American National
Theatre and Academy.
Scope and Content
Collection consists predominantly of mimeographed and typescript play scripts that were adapted for a radio program conducted
by the Tryout Theatre. Also included are 3 programs for stage plays.
