This series contains records from three of the publications Córdova founded and served as editor. It is divided into three subseries: (1.1) The Lesbian Tide, (1.2) Community Yellow Pages and (1.3) Square Peg Magazine.

The Lesbian Tide Subseries 1.1. 1971-1988

Subseries Scope and Content

This subseries comprises minutes, correspondence, financial records, distribution and subscription information, advertising accounts, editorial material, clippings, notes, form letters and other material from The Lesbian Tide, a news magazine Córdova founded in 1971. The producers of The Lesbian Tide were known as the Tide Collective, and the publication was distributed until 1980.

Series Scope and Content

This series comprises correspondence, minutes, clippings, manuscripts, notes, speeches, periodicals, pamphlets and other papers documenting Córdova's activism in the gay and lesbian and feminist movements beginning in 1970. These materials document her experiences in events and organizations, such as the National Lesbian Conference at UCLA, the International Women's Year Conference, the Stonewall Democratic Club, the 1980 Democratic National Convention, the National Lesbian Feminist Organization, the No on LaRouche campaign, the Connexxus Women's Business Alliance, ONE Institute and International Gay & Lesbian Archives, and numerous other activities.

Series Scope and Content

This series comprises manuscripts, notes, clippings and correspondence related to Córdova's published and unpublished writings. Included are articles and manuscripts from her job as editor and columnist for the Los Angeles Free Press and works contributed to numerous periodicals and anthologies, such as Lesbian Nuns: Breaking the Silence, The Advocate, Icon, and others. Also included are materials from Córdova's published books ( Sexism: It's a Nasty Affair, Kicking the Habit: A Lesbian Nun Story, and When We Were Outlaws) as well as unpublished books, including a fictional portrait of lesbian feminism ( Your Mother, Your Sister, Your Lover), and two unfinished memoirs ( Anicha and The Apostles.)
