    Abstract: George Larkin (1888-1946) starred in many silent films and wrote mystery scripts with his wife, Olive Kirby Larkin, including Bulldog courage (1922) and The Pell Street Mystery (1924), which became silent films in which George Larkin also starred. The collection consists of manuscripts jointly written by George and Olive Kirby Larkin for radio, stage, and motion picture production. There is also a book, clippings, other printed material, photographs, postcards, and prints.

    Biography

    George Larkin was born in 1888; he starred in many silent films, including: While father telephoned (1913), Zongar (1918), The devil's trail (1919), Man trackers (1921), Barriers of folly (1922), Way of the transgressor (1923), Yankee madness (1924), and The right man (1925); wrote mystery scripts with his wife, Olive Kirby Larkin, including Bulldog courage (1922) and The Pell Street Mystery (1924), which became silent films in which George Larkin also starred; he died in 1946.

    Scope and Content

    Collection consists of manuscripts jointly written by Hollywood actors George and Olive Kirby Larkin, mostly mystery scripts for radio, stage, and motion picture production. Manuscripts include Bulldog courage, Carnival of peace, Crossroads of peace, Death makes a bargain, Estrada the magnificent, House of three deuces, Midnight at Pier One, Murder at 99 Pell, Murder in the last act, Murder lake, The Pell Street mystery, Right in Minnie's lap, Tugboat Annie, Twin sisters, and Two-time queen. Personal material includes a book, clippings, other printed material, photographs, postcards, and prints. Also contains the manuscript, Make way for heaven, possibly written by George and Olive Larkin.

    2. Personal material (Boxes 4-5).
