Biography
Carr was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 17, 1903; BS, UC Berkeley, 1930; married Mildred Clarke, 1934; reporter,
Portland Oregonian, 1922-26; research chemist and later research manager, Union Oil Company, 1930-47; consultant, assistant director of fuels
and lubricants division, and deputy director of research, Phillips Petroleum Company, 1947-65; served on Petroleum Industry
War Council during World War Two; author of various articles and 7 books.

Collection consists of manuscripts, galleys, and related correspondence of Donald Eaton Carr. The manuscripts for Carr's books
in the collection focus primarily on water and air pollution.
