Statewide conferences and workshops form an important core activity for the Network and its members. Scope and Content Note

APITEN was active in coalitions of organizations such as the California Youth Advocacy Network (CYAN), sponsoring conferences, training, and technical assistance in youth advocacy, as well as campaigns to stimulate leadership among young people as the "future leaders" of tobacco control. This series includes materials from the California Department of Health Services Tobacco Control Section programs Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement (STAKE) and "Operation Storefront", a program that mobilized young people against tobacco advertising.

As the only group offering services from native speakers of Asian and Pacific Islander languages, the Network made a significant contribution to the California Smokers' Helpline.
