Abstract: Thomas Willard Clark (1941- ) was the poetry editor of
The Paris Review (1963-73), senior writer of
The Boulder Monthly (1978-79) and instructor in poetics at New College of California (1988- ). He wrote numerous books of poetry, wrote a biography
of musician Neil Young (1971) and books on baseball. The collection consists of correspondence and manuscripts sent to Clark
by various authors for possible publication. Also includes many of Clark's manuscripts as well as manuscripts and correspondence
from other authors.

Biography
Thomas Willard Clark was born March 1, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois; attended John Carroll University (1959-60), University of
Michigan (BA, 1963), Cambridge University (MA, 1965), and University of Essex (1965-67); poetry editor,
Paris Review (1963-73); instructor in American poetry, University of Essex (1966-67); senior writer,
Boulder Monthly (1978-79); instructor in poetics, New College of California, beginning in 1988; author of numerous books of poetry, including
Stones (1969),
Air (1970), and
Blue (1974); also wrote a biography of musician Neil Young (1971) and books on baseball.
Scope and Content
Collection consists of correspondence and manuscripts sent to Clark by various authors for possible publication. Also includes
Clark's manuscripts for the following titles:

Blue. Correspondents and manuscripts by other authors include writings from Clark Coolidge, Donald A. Davie, Donald Hall, Ron
