Biographical / historical:

Dorothy Erskine was born in 1896. A lifelong resident of San Francisco, she was involved in early efforts supporting public housing in the 1930's. She later became an active leader in local and regional environmental organizations. She passed away in San Francisco in 1982.

Acquisition information:
The Dorothy Ward Erskine papers were given to The Bancroft Library by John Erskine December 13, 1982. Additions were made on April 27, 1983.
