Abstract: This is a collection of papers consisting of the CFLA's agendas, meetings, notes, events, brochures and newsletters. Comision
Femenil de Los Angeles, founded in 1970, was primarily concerned with advancing the image, role and contributions of the Chicana
to and in the community. Once established, the Comision provided leadership information and training for many of today's Chicana
community leaders. During its time, the Comision published a newsletter, operated two bilingual child-development centers,
and founded the Chicana Service Action Center.

Biography
Comision Femenil de Los Angeles, founded in 1970, was primarily concerned with advancing the image, role and contributions
of the Chicana to and in the community. Once established, the Comision provided leadership information and training for many
of today's Chicana community leaders. During its time, the Comision published a newsletter, operated two bilingual child-development
centers, and founded the Chicana Service Action Center.

Scope and Content
This collection consists of papers, printed materials, publications, clippings and ephemera. It ranges in date from 1972 to
2005, with the bulk of material ranging from 1999 to 2005.
This collection was originally arranged by the donors in folders. All materials from these original folders remain together.
They have been assigned series to facilitate access.
