Biographical/Historical Sketch
Announced by university president Gerhard Casper in 1994 and administered by the
Asia/Pacific Research Center of the Institute for International Studies, the program is
aimed at bringing up to 25 students to Stanford annually for two to three years of advanced
graduate study.
