Leased from Stanford University and subleased by James Rolph in 1922, George Webb started Webb Ranch as a strawberry farm and is now the oldest operating farm that has leased land from Stanford University. The book "The Webb Ranch: Pioneers to Pumpkins" by Cliff Piece provides a history of the ranch from 1922-200 and includes photographs from the Stanford Historical Photograph collection
