Background

Scope and content:

Zhabinskii was a Radio Liberty broadcast editor and commentator, and historian with a subject specialty in the twentieth-century Soviet Union. The bulk of the materials relate to his work for Radio Liberty and include radio broadcast scripts and sound recordings, memoranda, notes, correspondence, and printed matter relating to Radio Liberty broadcasting to the Soviet Union, and to Russian literature. Zhabinskii's writings include both non-fiction and fiction works, such as articles, short stories, and novels.

Biographical / historical:

Vladimir Zhabinskii was a Russian émigré in the United States; Radio Liberty broadcast editor and commentator, and novelist writing under the pseudonyms Vladimir IUrasov and V. Rudol'f.
