    Scope and Content Note

    The bulk of collection consists of various forms of real estate legal documents of William S. Sharon including deeds, mortgages, conveyances, and trusts. Includes a $1,000,000 mortage of Sharon's with the Hibernia Savings and Loan Society. Also includes a number of similar documents for William C. Ralston and miscellaneous others. The real estate legal documents include transactions with notable persons in San Francisco history including Henry Haight, John W. Geary, James O'Farrell, and others.
