Scope and content:

Contains incomplete set of manuscripts of the winning entries of the Mary Tanenbaum Award in Nonfiction. Tanenbaum was a journalist who worked with Joseph Henry Jackson, reviewing books for The San Francisco Chronicle and also appeared in The New York Times and The Christian Science Monitor. The Mary Tanenbaum Award was made permanent in 2000 by her husband Charles in memory of Ms. Tanenbaum's legacy as an author.
