Organizational History
Americans for Nonsmokers' Rights ("ANR"), formed in 1976, was originally Californians for Nonsmokers' Rights of Berkeley,
California. The only national lobbying organization in the United States that advocates nonsmokers' rights, ANR focuses on
secondhand-smoke issues, whether in the workplace, at school, or at home. As a nonprofit educational membership organization,
ANR develops programs for school-age children, especially its "Teens as Teachers" (TAT) curriculum, in which teenage youth
teach younger children. Their mission, history and programs are described on their Web site at "http://www.no-smoke.org/"
