    Abstract: Paul E. Stewart (1879-1963) was born in Tennessee. He served as Santa Barbara Superintendent of Schools (1919-34) and was a member of the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors (1943-59). The collection consists of correspondence, clippings, memorabilia, and photographs concerning his career in education and Santa Barbara County politics.

    Biography

    Paul E. Stewart was born on August 23, 1879 in Tennessee; attended Peabody College and the University of Nashville; served as Santa Barbara Superintendent of Schools, 1919-34; member, Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, 1943-59; he died on February 14, 1963 in Santa Barbara.
