Abstract: Collection of playbills and programs from theater, opera, ballet, and musical performances in the Bay Area between the 1940s
and early 2000s.
Physical Location: Special Collections and University Archives materials are stored offsite and must be paged 36 hours in advance.
The collection is arranged by type of performance. Within each series, items are arranged alphabetically.
Open for research. Note that material must be requested at least 36 hours in advance of intended use.
While Special Collections is the owner of the physical and digital items, permission to examine collection materials is not
an authorization to publish. These materials are made available for use in research, teaching, and private study. Any transmission
or reproduction beyond that allowed by fair use requires permission from the owners of rights, heir(s) or assigns.

The John W. Jalonen program collection is comprised of various playbill and performance programs mostly from local and regional
production companies around the San Francisco Bay Area presented between the 1940s and 2000s. The collection is organized
into series according to production type: Theater Playbills, Opera Programs, Ballet Performances, and Concerts. An addendum
makes up the fifth series.
