Background
Eugene Rudolph Lindberg was born in Berkeley, California, on March 22, 1904. He grew up in the Fresno area and eventually
attended what would become Fresno State University, then graduating with a degree in civil engineering and a teaching certificate
in 1929. He also earned a master's degree in physics from the University of Southern California. In 1930, he joined the faculty
of Sacramento High School, teaching physics and photography. When C.K. McClatchy High School opened in 1937, he transferred
there. He taught physics, chemistry, and physical science until his retirement in 1968. Lindberg passed away in 1997.
