Scope and Contents
Research and drafts for two of Donald Jelinek's published works: WHITE LAWYER, BLACK POWER (https://searchworks.stanford.edu/view/11916376)
and ATTICA JUSTICE (https://searchworks.stanford.edu/view/11918474). The material primarily covers Jelinek's time as a member
of SNCC and as a civil rights lawyer in Mississippi and Alabama, and leadership of the Southern Rural Research Project (SRRP);
his representation of Native American activists during the occupation of Alcatraz Island; and his representation of defendants
in the Attica Prison Uprising. There are also two scrapbooks, one containing photographs covering Jelinek's time in the South
and his press writing, mostly under the pen name "Argus"; and audiocassettes from an oral history interview.
