    This file contains a hand written letter, in Spanish, by Francisco Guerrero in which he appears to be discussing the different military departments of Alta-California, Pio Pico, and the Port of Yurba Buena.
    The document is in Spanish and appears to be a military correspondence. The document discusses several cities throughout California, such as Los Angles and Yurba Buena and the document is signed and dated January 19th, 1846. The document is on two pieces of parchment which has been sealed together with four spots of sealing wax.

    Biographical / Historical

    This file contains a hand-written letter, in Spanish, by Francisco Guerrero. He may be Francisco Guerrero (1811-1851) who was the Mexican alcalde of Yurba (Yerba) Buena in Mexican Alta California Territory 1836 and 1839. If so, his full name is: Francisco Guerrero y Palomares. He appears to be discussing the different military departments of Alta-California, Pio Pico, and the Port of Yurba (Yerba) Buena.
