The collection consists of materials from Ruth White (née Flightner) related to her friendship with science fiction author Harlan Ellison, who she met when they were both students at The Ohio State University. Known at that time by her nickname Windi, White became friends with Ellison after working with him on the student humor publication The Sundial. Materials in the collection include issues of The Sundial, photographs, articles, signed copies of some of Ellison's books, and letters Ellison wrote White providing updates on his life.
