Abstract: This collection contains photographs and negatives taken by Neil Boyer, a commercial photographer based in the South Bay Area
of Southern California. Clients include: businesses and organizations; families; models; bands; and others who hired Boyer
for portraits; public relations and marketing purposes; product photography; holiday and Christmas cards; and events. Material
types include: black-and-white and color negative film; color transparency film; slide film; polaroids; proof sheets; and
prints.

The Neil Boyer Photography Collection (1971-2019; undated) contains 25 boxes and 20 linear ft. of black-and-white and color
negative film; color transparency film; slide film; proof sheets; and prints belonging to photographer, Neil Boyer. Images
were taken by Boyer during his time as a professional photographer. Some of his clients included: Western Airlines, Excellon
Automation, PerkinElmer (formerly CCS Packard), American Public Works Association, Automobile Driving Museum, Kellogg Garden
Products, Computer Science Corporation, Integrated Foods, and other organizations who hired Boyer to take photographs of products,
buildings, and aerial views for public relations and marketing purposes. Also included are images taken at events and award
ceremonies; portraits and headshots taken for professional purposes; family portraits; images taken for holiday cards, engagements,
and award ceremonies; and studio photography of bands, models, families, musicians, and entertainers. This collection is arranged
into four series. Series I: Commercial Photography Work contains photography related to products and marketing, Series II:
Stock Photography contains 35mm color slide transparency film regarding images taken of products and locations for public
relations and marketing purposes, Series II: Model and Band Photography contains photography related to model, family, and
band portraits; and other studio photography, and Series IV: Administrative Files and Personal Papers contains documents related
to model releases; an inventory of the collection; client lists; client contact information; promotional postcards; and job
estimates.

Biographical / Historical
Neil Boyer is a photographer based in the South Bay of Southern California. During the 1980s-2000s he had a photography studio
in Redondo Beach, CA. where he specialized in portait and video photography as well as commerical photography related to
products, advertising, industrial, illustrative, and fashion. Some of his clients included: Computer Science Corp., Western
Airlines; Mattel Toys; May Co., Toyota; Xerox; Excellon Automation; Integrated Foods; and others.
