    Biography

    Valerie SoRelle was a television, radio, and stage actress. She developed a friendship with Mary Pickford and Charles "Buddy" Rogers, and also befriended actresses Julie Adams and Jane Withers.

    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    The Valerie SoRelle collection spans the years 1927-1981 (bulk 1930-1960) and encompasses 8 linear feet. The collection consists of general subject files, files on Charles "Buddy" Rogers, scrapbooks with clippings of movie stars, photographs, and photograph albums on "Buddy" Rogers. The general subject files contain material collected by SoRelle, including clippings, correspondence, periodicals, programs for events, and miscellaneous documents and artifacts. The "Buddy" Rogers subject files consist of a book, "Abie's Irish Rose," featuring images from the film adaptation with Rogers; clippings; correspondence relating to Rogers, Pickford, and Pickfair; invitations to events at Pickfair and elsewhere; sheet music from the films of Rogers and Pickford; periodicals; radio transcripts; promotional material for a film produced by Rogers and Pickford, SLEEP, MY LOVE (1948); and miscellaneous documents and artifacts.
