Arrangement

Authorization cards are arranged chronologically. Contact cards, transfer/clearance cards, and membership receipts are arranged chronologically and alphabetically.

Scope and Contents

Comprises various membership materials issued by the union and by employers, including receipts and statements of fees paid by members, as well as individual dues books. Authorization cards allowed employers to deduct wages to cover supplemental union dues, and transfer/clearance cards, issued by local unions and valid for a period of one month, enabled employees to go to different cities or locations to find work.
