Biographical / historical:

Founded in 1886 by pharmacist John Stith Pemberton, Coca-Cola was originally marketed as a medicinal tonic. It quickly grew into a popular soft drink and a powerful symbol of American lifestyle and culture. The Coca-Cola Company has became a global brand, known not only for its beverages but for its widespread influence on pop culture evidenced through advertising, merchandise, and collectible memorabilia.
