Abstract: Harold (Hal) Seip (1919 October 28-2009 February 10) was a gay crafter, hotel administrator, and volunteer with Prime Timers
and New Leaf Outreach to Elders. Born in Tuscola, Illinois, Seip earned a Bachelor of Education from Eastern Illinois University,
later moving to San Francisco in 1957. He earned a degree in hotel management from San Francisco State University and managed
the Oxford and Roosevelt Hotels. As a crafter he worked especially with egg shells, creating cases and painted eggs for display.
Diplomas and training certificates; photographs from the 1940s to the 2000s; awards trophies, certificates, and County and
State Fair ribbons; and a painted egg shell document Seip’s education, career, hobbies, and gay life in the Bay Area.
