This collection contains demos recorded on vinyl, cassette tape, and other media as well as lyrics and sheet music, some handwritten, typed, and photocopied, belonging to songwriter Richard Reicheg. The bulk of the recording are not dated, but one dated 1974 and Reicheg's career suggest an approximate date range of the materials in the 1970s.
- Biographical / historical:

Richard Reicheg (5/26/1937 - 7/30/2021) was born and raised in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York, New York. He served in the United States Army in Germany during the 1950s and received degrees in speech and theater. He performed in music groups in New York and across the US and Canada and later settled in Los Angeles, California. He married Julie Payne and spent years writing music for film, television, and theater. He was nominated for a Grammy for the soundtrack to the Robert Altman film Nashville and the hit "Looking for an Echo." Reicheg passed away in July 2021 at the age of 84.
