Scope and content:

Two black and white photographs, mounted on black card stock, which were displayed in Dr. Joseph Berlin's dental practice office in Chicago. Photograph 1: Dr. Helen Rulison Shipley, one of the few women practicing dentistry in the United States at the time, in her San Francisco office in 1900; she later practiced in Reno, Goldfield, and Tonopah, Nevada. -- Photograph 2: First dental office of Leland D. Jones, D.D.S. (1902 graduate of the University of California Dental College), in the Express Building, 6th and F streets, San Diego, California, 1902; scene shows a dentist anesthetizing a seated patient with gas, while a man and 5 girls look on.
