The collection consists of ephemera from the late 1960s and early 1970s relating to the burgeoning alternative culture as it intercepted with the humanistic psychology movement.

Biographical / historical:

John Koehne, Jr., (b. 1921) was an agent with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency until the late 1960s when he and his wife "escaped the establishment" and spent several years attending humanistic psychology, new age, and self-help workshops and seminars. Their goal at the time was to establish a commune for those seeking to change their lifestyles.
