    Cecil B. DeMille was an American director, producer, and screenwriter active in film between 1913 and 1958.

    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    The Cecil B. DeMille collection spans the years 1927-1960s (bulk 1950s and 1960s) and encompasses 1.25 linear feet of manuscripts and 1 artwork. The collection is comprised of material assembled and separated from the Cecil B. DeMille Photographs during processing. There are telegrams concerning the founding of the Academy. There is a script for SAMSON AND DELILAH (1949) with a research/background book containing historical information compiled by DeMille's research staff. In addition, there is some correspondence between DeMille's office and John Hampton regarding loans of photographs, clippings, and miscellaneous memorabilia. There is also a drawing by Frederick Stover dating from 1941 of Grauman's Chinese Theater.
