Scope and content:

This collection consists of framed paintings by British motion picture matte artist Albert Whitlock (1915-1999). One is a 57 1/4" by 34 1/2" framed painting of a nighttime neighborhood. The second is a 54 1/4" by 34 1/2" framed painting of a European skyline during the daytime.

Biographical / historical:

Albert Whitlock (1915-1999) was a British motion picture matte artist. He won two Academy Awards for Special Achievement in Visual Effects in 1975 and 1976 for his work on "Earthquake" and The Hindenburg."
