    Scope and Content of Collection

La Jolla Cave Street property owners' petitions for permission to tunnel into the La Jolla Caves for the purposes of creating a tourist attraction for a fee. Opposition to these petitions from other La Jolla residents and community members concerned about destabilization of the sea caves and the ocean bluffs. Included are many signatures of historical figures from La Jolla and San Diego in the early 1900s.
